What is Globe at Night?
“Globe at Night is an international citizen-science campaign to raise public awareness of the impact of light pollution by inviting citizen-scientists to measure & submit their night sky brightness observations.” More info on their website: https://globeatnight.org/
FAQ:
What if it’s cloudy?
You can still take an observation, just mark the cloud cover as however covered the sky is as you see it! Observations are still useful if there are some clouds, but might not be as useful to the scientists when the sky is completely covered in clouds. We like the Clear Sky Chart as a forecast of cloud cover in your area!
What if I don’t have internet access to report?
You can record your observations by hand or on your phone, then submit when you do have internet access. We’ve created a printable PDF to make recording by hand easier!
