Hawks Ridge

Watch a multitude of raptors and other birds soar overhead while learning about the importance of dark skies for their safe migration. The unique geography of along Lake Superior, creates a natural perfect conditions to witness the concentrated movement of birds of prey.

Hawks Ridge - Weather Delay - now sunday evening!

Join us Sunday evening for some Stargazing! Starry Skies North president Todd Burlet will guide us on some naked eye stargazing and star lore, then search for good and bad lighting in the Twin Ports from our overlook, and learn simple things we can all do to protect birds and wildlife from light pollution.

Enjoy a free night at the Planetarium! Learn about the night sky in a unique and personal setting. Learn about the stars and the importance of our dark skies! Programs are made to be entertaining and captivating for ages.


Night Sky Celebration - An Evening of Music, Art, and Science

Enjoy a Free concert by singer / songwriter extraordinaire Michael Monroe, spectacular Northern Lights photography  by Travis Novitsky as he premiers his new book Spirits Dancing created in collaboration with Annette Lee of Native Skywatchers.  Then be entertained by Astro Bob King as he takes us on a tour of the night sky.  We will also launch our Dark Sky Friendly Business initiative by recognizing Scott Vesterstein and the dark sky friendly lighting at Fitgers.

Enjoy free appetizers and win valuable raffle and silent auction prizes!

Stargazing At Wisconsin Point

A weather delay will be announced here by Noon on Friday the 15th In case of a weather delay join us for stargazing on Canal Park on the 16th instead (see below)

Join us for a night of Stargazing over Lake Superior! Wisconsin Point is one of the best locations along Lake Superior in the Twin Ports to look up at the night sky. Join Starry Skies North, the Arrowhead Astronomical Society, and Friends of Lake Superior Reserve for a fun filled night looking up at the stars.





Great Lakes Aquarium

This year, Starry Skies North has partnered with the Great Lakes Aquarium! Enjoy all the classic exhibits with a focus on what the animals do at night! Time your visit to catch a naturalist talk about the importance of night for all creatures thanks to Hartley Nature Center and the Friends of the Sax-Zim Bog (time TDB).

Stargazing At Canal Park

Location: Canal Park - Next to the Lift Bridge

A weather alternative will be announced here by Noon on the Friday the 15th.  In case of a cloudy forecast for the 16th join us for stargazing the night before (September 15th)  instead (see above for Wisconsin point details).
